Professionally I am a Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineers License, now retired and pursuing landscape and nature photography. Being naturally meticulous and patient, I bring a different approach to photography than most photographers, and work hard to find a pleasing composition in good light that highlights the natural beauty of God's Creation.
I have been studying photography seriously for 9 years, and have put a significant amount of time studying books written by Professional photographers. I have also attended a number of photography workshops led by Professional photographers, both here in the U.P. and as far away as California, and have taken photography classes taught by Professional photographers online through BetterPhoto.com, where I have been awarded their Advanced Photographer certification.
I was accepted into Zero Degrees Artist Cooperative in Marquette, Michigan, 4 years ago, and have been a member ever since. I have had one of my images published by National Geographic.com as part of an online article. I have been accepted to Waterfront Art Festival put on by the William Bonifas Fine Art Center in Escanaba, and have had some of my work accepted into the Northern Exposure exhibition at the William Bonifas Fine Art Center in Escanaba, Michigan, as well as the North of the 45th exhibition at the DeVos Art Museum in Marquette, Michigan.
