Painting and Mixed Media
I was born and raised in the Marquette area, and art has been my passion ever since I was a child. I have worked with many different mediums throughout the years, including oils, stained glass, porcelain painting, fabric art, watercolor and acrylic. I like to experiment with paint and texture. Its always amazing to see what the results will be. Our beautiful Upper Peninsula is a great inspiration for creativity and the four seasons, with all the diverse colors, is truly a painters palette.
I have been juried into numerous art exhibits and have received many awards. I am a member of the Lake Superior Art Association, Bay Area Art Association, and International Society of Experimental Artists. I don't try to take a philosophical approach to my work I just enjoy the tranquility and the opportunity to explore and learn the many fascinating aspects of the medium in which I am working. I see no need to paint in the same style when there are so many avenues to explore. I paint because it is what I love to do. I want to give the viewers a moment of escape, a break for the eyes and mind.
