Thirteen years’ experience in Watercolor, Pen and Ink, Acrylic and some Oils. Primarily an acrylic landscape artist and occasionally incorporate wildlife or farm animals. Use own photographs as reference material and have also painted a few plein aire and portraits. Have taken workshops with Aaron Bivins, Cindy Evans, Sharon Griffes-Tarr, Heiner Hertling, Gerald C. Hill, Rod Lawrence, Mark Mehaffey, Mary Rochelle-Burnham, Jerry Yarnell among others.
Served as a Member, Secretary, Vice President, Demonstration Coordinator, Workshop Coordinator, Exhibit Coordinator for Jackson Civic Art Association, Jackson, Michigan from 2003 through 2016.
Currently a member of the Lake Superior Art Association, Marquette, Michigan. Exhibiting at Zero Degrees Gallery, Marquette, where I am their Secretary; Open Wings Pottery and Gallery in Munising; and UP Scale Art in Munising.
Helped write a grant, develop and volunteer for “Art ‘a Loan”, a K-12 Juried art exhibit for public, private, and home-schooled Jackson County students for 10 years. The selected artwork was professionally framed, displayed at Ella Sharp Museum, Jackson, MI and rented out to businesses for one year (which paid for the program for the following year).
Completed ten commission pieces in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
