Bill Hamilton   |   Watercolorist

The wild and beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan has been Bill Hamilton's home and the inspiration for his painting for over thirty years. It was there he decided to stay after retiring from a career with the U.S. Air Force. He and his family found what they had always wanted: a year-round home on a lake in a forest.

The lake provides a setting for watching the changing seasons in the northland--the long-awaited breakup of the ice in the spring, followed by the procession of wildflowers into the summer,
then the scarlets and golds of autumn maples and  birches, giving way in turn to the white stillness of winter. In watercolor, Bill Hamilton records the fleeting images of nature.

A graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina, he also holds a Master's degree from Northern Michigan University where he studied painting and art education. His studio is in his home at Little Lake, Michigan.
