Sandy Weber | Fiber Artist

I am a fiber artist with a love for silk and wool. Formally trained in art & design. I
now channel my passion for color and texture into creating usable fiber art influenced by rocks, bark, water, plants
and flowers.
My silk scarves are hand dyed using the ancient Japanese Shibori method com-
bined with other contemporary dye methods. My hand-felted wool items
are enhanced by my love of hand stitch-
ing in a creative freeform way which is guided by the color and texture of the felt.
I also use my nature-inspired energy to create hand woven tapestries. My tapestries evolve organically transforming different colors and textures of yarn into a reflection of my favorite elements of nature,
I have enjoyed the outdoors my entire life; camping, hiking and fishing. I have had a love for Lake Superior for the last 30 years and feel blessed to live in Marquette, where I am inspired by the unique beauty of the lakes and forests of upper Michigan.
