Ron Morgan

I was born and raised in Colorado and have lived in Marquette for the past 36 years. I am a Marine Vietnam Veteran and after the service I met a beautiful girl named Judy from Marquette. We got married and moved here in 1974. We raise two boys, Dylan and Michael, both NMU graduates. I worked at Bunny Bread / Sara Lee Bakery for 35 years until it closed in 2009. I have always loved Art. When I was in junior high school I noticed the detail my art teacher used in drawing the scales of a rainbow trout. I was really into pencil drawings and I loved his detail. He was my first inspiration.
In the mid-1970's I displayed my artwork at Art on the Rocks. I then continued to draw as a hobby (murals, saw blades, logos). When my family was young and involved in travel hockey and school activities I never had time to devote to my art until retirement in '09. I love Marquette and the people here. The feel of historic Marquette and its natural beauty has inspired me to once again focus on my artwork.
